Molybdenum disulfide grease is a kind of extreme pressure resistant grease. It made of inorganic thickener thickening synthetic oil, molybdenum disulfide solid lubricant, anti-oxidation, anti-rust and other additives. It can effectively used for lubrication of bearings and motion devices in high temperature, high load / impact load and other environments, providing long-term anti-wear and corrosion protection. The applicable temperature range is generally-30 ~ + 350 °C.
The addition of molybdenum disulfide to the grease can improve the lubricating ability of the grease. When the lubricating film of the grease is subjected to a short impact load or high heat, it can play a reinforcing role and act as an extreme pressure additive. In addition, molybdenum disulfide can make grease thickening, improve the resistance to loss, enhance sealing and protective and improve thermal stability.
Graphite grease is a kind of grease which is made of synthetic oil thickened by inorganic thickener and refined by ultra-fine graphite powder, anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion and other additives.
However, when the high temperature grease is above 200 °C, the base oil slowly volatilizes and loses the lubricating effect. Graphite will adhere to the lubricating surface to form solid lubrication, providing maximum anti-rust and anti-corrosion protection.
The applicable temperature range is -20 ~ + 450 °C, and the maximum intermittent temperature resistance can reach 500 °C.
It can be seen that the high temperature resistance of graphite grease is relatively better than molybdenum disulfide grease. The cost of graphite grease is lower than that of molybdenum disulfide grease. How to choose it depends on the application scenarios and working conditions.
Graphite grease is better than molybdenum disulfide grease in high temperature resistance and low cost.But molybdenum disulfide has better anti-wear, extreme pressure resistance and lubrication performance than graphite grease. Therefore, it is best to use molybdenum disulfide grease in some harsh, heavy-duty environment.
